21 Days and counting!

Our little baby boy is already 21 days and counting; hard to believe how time fly's!

We cherish everyday that goes by and can't stop just staring at him. Jacob is much more active than he was the 1st few weeks. He stays up now quite a bit just looking around and taking it all in; loves spending time in mommy and daddy's arms. His skin is completely peeled now leaving it nice and soft but still with that great baby smell. He completely lost his belly button tie now and makes changing his diapers a breeze! :) That's a great thing being he goes thru so many a day. Who would've imagined so much could come out of someone so small?! It's hard going back to work and having to spend so much time away from Carol and the baby but mom's doing such a great job with him. Keep up the great work mommy!!!

Carol's mom and aunt have been here and have been a great help with the baby and around the house. Don't know what in the world we're going to do when there gone besides suffer and eat lots of take out? Anyone looking for some part time work as a nanny and work cheap??? Anyone :)

Thanks everyone for all the nice emails and your support. We hope we get to see everyone real soon and miss everyone so much.

Love you all Bunches!

Finally Here!!!

Oct. 2nd

Jacob Zachary has finally blessed us with his presence. He was born at 12:44 am on Sept. 25th; his exact due date, what a punctual little boy. He weighed in at 6lbs and 12.7 ounces and measured 19 1/4 inches long, so tiny and adorable. It was a crazy ride and a long day for both Mommy and Daddy, more so for Mommy, but we are so lucky to have received such a precious little gift from God.

Mommy took such great care of herself it definitely shows in every way with Baby Jacob. He has such precious eye's, ears, little hands and feet...and of course, the Martinez nose. We couldn't have dreamed for anything better than what were blessed with in our little boy Jacob. He is so quite and doesn't fuss unless he has something to really fuss about, i.e. wet/poopy diaper or being hungry. He loves to eat and is growing by the day; it's hard to believe it's already been a week since his arrival.

Happy Birthday Jacob, 1 week already!!!

Since he eats every 2-3 hrs, of course, we get no rest. He doesn't like when he's wet or when he has poop, but of course, who would like that; right!!!!! So it seems like by the time we're done with feeding and everything, it's almost time to start over again. We're enjoying every second and we don't care about the lack of sleep; we really wanted this and we are very happy and blessed. We have to enjoy and take advantage every second because they change and grow so quickly; he even looks different now at only a week old. He's little hands and feet are not wrinkled anymore, he's almost completely peeled and his hair isn't flat anymore. He smiles a lot and he stays up longer now than before, definitely more alert. As new parents there are lots of things that we don't know and are just learning as the minutes go by. Even though we took just about every class, it's much different.

The 1st diaper change at the hospital was a funny experience. They had just brought out Jacob to us for the 1st time when we noticed his diaper needed changing. So Chris called the nursery and told them his diaper needing changing like if it was a nanny service , hahahahaha. Well , they said....'you can do it, everything you need is there in the crib'.....LOL!!!!! So that's how he learned, right there, 1st time. Some of the clothes that we have bought for him was thought to be too small, so tiny that I didn't wash them because I thought he was not going to use them. We bought lots of his clothes over sized since we were told they grow so fast, well, when we got home we had to rush and wash the clothes we one day thought would be too small. So now we're washing his clothes every day to every other day because he doesn't have that many tiny clothes. Some still just look big on him. So lots of unexpected things have happened but that's part of our new role and I'm sure things will continue to happen. All we can do is just laugh, or cry, and tell the stories one day to our Jacob. :) This was a life changing expierence for both of us and we couldn't be happier.

We can't wait for everyone to come visit and enjoy getting to know Jacob just as much as we have over the last week.

Mommy & Daddy love you Jacob!!!
